For 35 years, Manwich® brand sloppy joe sauce in cans has given families a convenient way to put sloppy joes on the dinner table. Now, thanks to new Manwich Heat & Serve from ConAgra Foods, it's even easier to serve fun on a bun. Available in an 18-oz container, the new product with fully cooked ground beef, provides the ingredients and flavor of a sloppy joe, but without all of the preparation and cleanup, according to ConAgra Foods. Since the sauce contains fully cooked meat, consumers save time preparing a meal because they no longer need to cook the ground beef and add the sauce. Packaging consists of a microwavable polypropylene lid and tub made by Berry Plastics with an inner film lidstock, the high-density polyethylene base film for which is from Alcan Packaging The container is overwrapped in a brightly printed SBS sleeve label made by Caraustar. The heat-and-serve product microwaves in six minutes. Manwich Heat & Serve can be found nationally in the refrigerated-meals section at grocery and supercenters for a suggested retail price of $4.99.
