Meeting market demands: Colpac expands Stagione food packaging range with PE and PP offerings

17 Aug 2023 --- Colpac is growing its Stagione range of food-contact-safe products with PE coated and oven-safe PP pots. The PE coated pots are suitable for instant serve, hot hold, chilled and delivered food. Additionally, the PP Stagione range is now certified for oven and microwave reheating applications.

“Market demand has provided the opportunity for additional products while maintaining robust manufacturing standards and testing protocols,” the company shares.

The range is said to be recyclable along UK and EU guidelines, providing functionality and sustainability benefits. 

Lightweight advantages 
Colpac details that the new PE coated pots address product lightweighting, improving transport efficiency and cost. The coating provides a grease-resistant barrier and is compatible with multiple lid options. 

“The paperboard PE lined lid is single-skinned, adding to the range’s lightweight. Self-venting tabs make the lid suitable for chilled, hot and delivered food. The recycled PET (rPET) lid has an anti-mist coating for clarity in a chilled display,” states the company. 

Furthermore, Colpac says both lids fit all three sizes of PE coated Stagione – 500 mL, 750 mL and 1000 mL – reducing stock keeping unit counts for distributors and retailers.

Testing foods
Colpac’s Stagione PP coated range is suitable for display in hot hold cabinets and has been certified for specific oven parameters and ovenability must be tested by customers with specific food types. Colpac says it can offer customer support for the testing of food contents. 

“Our Stagione PP coated bowls are suitable for a wide range of uses due to their PP lining, which also provides an excellent leakproof barrier. They have corresponding microwave-safe PP lids across all three bowl sizes. We also have rPET lids with anti-mist coating for our 600 mL and 1300 mL sizes,” says the company.
