The PERMATRAN-W Model 700 and the OXYTRAN Model 702 provide precise and efficient means to measure water vapor and oxygen transmission rates, respectively. The systems feature modulated infrared for water vapor and the co.s proprietary COULOX coulometric-type sensor for oxygen, which provide an industry-high level of measurement precision, the co. says. The systems are used to measure MVTR and OTR on a variety of flexible and rigid packaging structures including flat films, laminates, coextrusions and bottles. They offer a removable, seven-cell configuration so that seven different structures can be tested independently. A pneumatic clamping device that is pushbutton-actuated eases the loading of material into the cell and provides constant pressure. The systems incorporate computerized flow control of all gases. Other features include a QuickStart feature and security features to protect test setups and control multiuser situations.
