A complete filling and cartoning line from Bosch Packaging Technology, Sigpack Systems and Sigpack Services is being used by Nestlé's Dalston plant for packaging its instant Capuccino products. Nestlé's key requirement is maximum flexibility alongside high output as one packaging line may be faced with filling up to nine different sizes of pack and then boxing them with a whole range of different number of packages per box. Nestlé is producing the "perfect pouch" on a Sigpack Systems flat pouch machine. Sigpack says the stickpack format is economical and environmentally sound, delivering up to 40% savings in primary packaging materials compared with four-side sealed pouches. Nestlé turned to Bosch Packaging Technology for cartoning. For the 8- or 10-pouch cartons produced in Dalston, Nestlé selected the Bosch CBT 4110, a robust intermittent motion cartoner, which was adapted for gentle, reliable handling of pouches directly fed from the upstream machine while being positively controlled throughout.
