New designs extend long-term customer relationship
RPC Containers Corby has secured a supply deal with Scandinavia’s largest food manufacturer, the Orkla Group, to produce a new range of multi-layer polypropylene bottles. The bottles will appear in Sweden, Finland and Denmark. RPC Corby is producing three bottle sizes for various brands within the Group while sister company RPC Verpackungen Kutenholz in Germany is supplying a fourth size. In addition, closures for all bottle sizes are being produced by RPC Halstead, underlying RPC’s single source supply capabilities.

In addition, closures for all bottle sizes are being produced by RPC Halstead, underlying RPC’s single source supply capabilities. RPC Corby’s long association with Procordia and the Felix brand in Sweden made the company the choice for the new Orkla Group contract. For Felix, the latest design marks the third generation of multi-layer bottles manufactured by RPC. Blow moulded in a six layer structure with EVOH providing the oxygen barrier to ensure extended ambient shelf life, the new bottles are a marked departure from the tapered neck design that has characterised the Felix brand up until now. Nevertheless, with a shorter neck and wide shoulders, the bottles – in 500g, 1 and 1.25 kg sizes – continue to provide a distinctive and different look to the packaging of rival ketchups as well as creating an excellent size impression on shelf. There is large recessed label panel to maximise the Felix branding. The three bottles for Felix are manufactured in the brand’s well-known deep matt red colour while RPC Kutenholz is producing a 665ml bottle in natural PP for Beauvais, Denmark. RPC Halstead is producing a new 38mm closure, pigmented green, designed to complement the new bottle design. RPC’s ability to provide the complete package of bottle and cap is another important aspect of its on-going relationship with Orkla.Fca
