New Look For Kingstone Press Cider
14 Feb 2013 --- Aston Manor Cider has unveiled a new look for Kingstone Press Cider as the business looks to build the brand in all channels of distribution.
The established brand will also benefit from a record investment in the next few years as Aston Manor, the largest independent cider maker in the UK, focuses on developing Kingstone Press into a major brand in a cider category that remains buoyant.
Newly appointed managing director, Gordon Johncox explains: “We have a great product where we know retailers and consumers are delighted with the quality of the cider.
“In refreshing the look of the brand we are reflecting the fact that Kingstone Press is an authentic English cider with the visual cues as well as the taste to appeal to real cider drinkers.
“We are so confident that this brand has a major role to play in our portfolio and future growth that we are committing a record investment in support of Kingstone Press – starting with the partnership with the Rugby Football League (RFL) announced last week.”
The new design has a stronger brand identify and creates a clear point of difference in the cider category. The addition of the can format is in response to discussions with retailers and presents more usage occasions for consumers.
There is also a 500ml glass bottle added to the range alongside the 660ml glass and unique 500ml small PET bottle with crown closure.
With the Kingstone Press Championships just launched and as an Official Partner of the England Rugby League team, Aston Manor Cider has a platform to now extend retail distribution and build consumer appeal and sales.
Gordon Johncox said: “We are developing activation plans across all channels of distribution to create opportunities for retailers and to maximise the consumer exposure from our investment.”
The investment and development work in Kingstone Press follows a period where the cider maker has spent millions building the production capability and capacity of the business – now the second largest UK cider maker.
It has meant that both volume and sales growth has continued at Aston Manor Cider in the last few years when the total cider category has been flat, and when other categories have been in decline.
Gordon Johncox added: “With the combination of brands, people and infrastructure we now have, Aston Manor is a quality business. We intend to improve further and be the reference cider maker.”
Claudette Munroe for design agency Tynan D’Arcy said: “We wanted to achieve a unique brand identity for Kingstone Press that captivated the true essence of the product.
“The imagery of the orchards and the monochrome rustic finish, mirrors the simple and honest brand qualities as well delivering a fresh modern edge through its vibrant colour palette.”
