Lima Foods selects Innovia Films’ NatureFlex for rice cakes wrapping
Belgium-based organic food manufacturer Lima Foods, a part of Hain Celestial Group brand portfolio, has selected compostable NatureFlex from Innovia Films to wrap its latest range of rice cakes.
Belgium-based organic food manufacturer Lima Foods, a part of Hain Celestial Group brand portfolio, has selected compostable NatureFlex from Innovia Films to wrap its latest range of rice cakes.
Barrier film NatureFlex is claimed to offer a long shelf life for dried foods such as rice. It is made from renewable resources such as wood pulp.
The transparent NatureFlex film was printed with OK Compost certified inks, tested on migration according to 1935/2004 and 10/2011, according to Innovia Films.
These films are certified to meet the American ASTM D6400, European EN13432 and Australian AS4736 standards for compostable packaging and their renewable biobased content is typically 95% by weight of material according to ASTM D6866.
NatureFlex films offer benefits for packing and converting and feature inherent deadfold and anti-static properties, high gloss and resistance to grease and oil, good barrier to gases, aromas and mineral oils as well as a wide heat-seal range.
