Oxygen barriers for flexible PET films

M&G Finanziaria Industriale has entered into a license agreement to utilize MicroCoating’s thin- film coating technology to apply silica-based barrier coatings on PET films for packaging applications. Combustion Chemical Vapor Deposition process enables state-of-the-art oxygen barrier performance for silica-coated PET films. Transparent films will allow for increased shelf life of perishable food products by reducing the transmission of oxygen by more than 90%.
