The THL 24/28 has been designed for manufacturers of portion packs of products like jams, spreads and condiments that are sold to hotels, restaurants and airlines.
Reduced dimensions
Oystar Hassia said the distinguishing feature of the new machine is its size and ease of operation. A spokesperson for the German company said that the THL 24/28 is 6 metres in length compared to comparable machines that are almost double the size. It is also only 2.3 metres in height and the thermoformed bottom web runs at a height of one metre.
Oystar Hassia said these height features not only save space on the factory floor but mean that the working processes can be seen easily. The company added that ease of operation was also improved thanks to the mounting of the lid material feed at a low working height, allowing rolls to be changed quickly and easily.
The Oystar Hassia spokesperson said the reduced dimensions of the new machine have been achieved partially thanks to a smaller format range of between 240mm to 280mm.
Possible deployment
With regards to the performance and range of the THL 24/28, Oystar Hassia said it can be deployed for a wide range of packaging forms and sizes of portion cups with a forming depth of up to 40mm.
Depending on the format and nature of the product, 35 strokes per minute can be achieved with the machine.
Giving an example, Oystar Hassia said it can produce 42,000 honey portion cups per hour with a punching dimension of 40 x 46.2mm and a forming depth of 19mm.
As for other performance points, the company claims the THL 24/28 offers improved energy efficiency and creates the conditions for processing thinner packaging materials, precisely portioning the volume of products of varying consistencies and minimising the punch waste.
