New brand PERK!ER, specialising in gluten free food has won the coveted award of ‘Best new packaging design’ at the Natural & Organic Products Europe trade show.

New brand  PERK!ER,  specialising  in  gluten  free  food  has  won the coveted award of ‘Best new packaging design’ at the Natural & Organic Products Europe trade show. Now in its eighteenth year, the annual awards brought together over 430 industry professionals to recognise and celebrate the standout brands and products of the year.  

“We are absolutely delighted to be the winners of this year’s best new packaging design award. We  are  a  new  brand,  and  our mission is to bring delight to gluten free eating through our brand and  packaging  design,  as  well  as  our  product  range,”  said  Ann Perkins & Steve Turner, co-founders of Perkier Foods Ltd, whose PERK!ER Fruity Berry Porridge Pot was also a finalist in the Best New Special Diet Product award category. The first value added gluten free porridge pot on the UK market”    
 
Anna Campling, designer added: Ann & Steve's vision for the PERK!ER brand right from day one was to add excitement to the free-from fixture and offer a delicious range of gluten free foods that do not disappoint…anyone! An ideal brief and one I feel so lucky to have been given…as soon as I tasted that Rocky Road I was hooked… and I am by no means target market. The visual identity is based around the concept idea 'ticket to life'. It symbolises PERK!ER's mission to give those avoiding gluten the opportunity to join in with delicious food. It's not about compromise or having to miss out, it's about joining in and enjoying food again. Those tricky times like lunch and breakfast are now an absolute joy! 

It was a bold step to create a range of packaging that adapts across a variety of colour ways and is still recognisable, but it completely sums up the PERK!ER personality… full of life and energy! They trust in their instincts and in me as a designer which is why I think we work so incredibly well together. Every meeting ends like the first time I ever met them, with a big smile and a huge thank-you hug…they are the clients you dream of working with and I feel so lucky to be part of Team PERK!ER and am over the moon that we have won this award.”
