The application of reclosable or resealable packages is getting a foothold in the food field.
The main feature of this packaging solution is the possibility to reclose open packages of cheese and ready-sliced salami before putting them back in the fridge.
This packaging solution is on the increase in the refrigerator aisle of large scale retailing, recently also in Italy.
A resealable film gives the possibility to the end user to re-close the package up to 10 times after first opening. The high performance of the resealable film lies in the adhesive layer which after first opening uncovers itself and allows the following re-closings of the package.
The film, which is employed to be laminated to other materials, is destined to the realization of printed and non-printed tops and stiff bottoms destined to thermoforming.
