RICA puts a new cap on quality
Elopak Caribe worked closely with leading juice producer in the Dominican Republic, Pasteurizadora RICA to incorporate new closures to its products including juices, juice drinks and flavoured milks. The new caps were supplied by Elopak as part of a complete packaging solution.

Part of the RICA Group, which was established in 1966, RICA is the foremost food company in the Dominican Republic. “The group strives to provide products of optimum quality and this was very much part of that goal,” explains Marco Cabral, Elopak’s Senior Commercial Manager in the Caribbean.
The new caps were added to RICA’s half gallon maxi Pure-Pak® cartons for extended shelf life juice drinks. “Elopak was asked to provide a complete solution to RICA’s very rigorous requirements and we worked with them to convert all filling technology for the new caps,” adds Marco. “Elopak provided retro-fit parts, technical support and project management during the changeover to the Elo-Cap™ US closure.”
The Elo-Cap™ US caps have proven to be very reliable and efficient closure. Elopak is now providing 6 million caps p.a. alongside Pure-Pak® cartons. In addition, from April 2014 Elopak is also supplying 16 million Elo-Cap™ UP’s closures p.a. for RICA’s 32 oz Qts blanks. This follows further technical support from Elopak who retro-fitted RICA’s existing fillers.
“Pasteurizadora RICA is Elopak’s largest customer in the Caribbean for whom we already supply 100% of their cartons. We provided a turn-key solution which demonstrated Elopak’s strength in closures and its flexibility to provide features for customers to optimize their product packaging,” adds Claudio Sidney, Elopak’s VP Market Area Caribbean.
