RPC Bebo Nederland has made a significant breakthrough in the aesthetic potential of its container range by creating a green tinted lid for a range of low fat fresh salads.

Although maintaining product freshness was a key consideration, Delhaize also wanted to ensure that the pack would stand out in the chill cabinet and emphasize the health issue of the product. RPC Bebo Nederland’s solution was to use a clear tint green material for the lid manufacture. Tinting the lid provides an eye-catching alternative to standard designs, which nevertheless enables consumers to see the product clearly. The container chosen is a thermoformed clear PP tub from RPC Bebo Nederland’s standard convenience food range. Fully compatible with industrial filling lines and ideal for chilled salads, it is sealed with a lidding film for temper evidence and maximum product freshness. The pack’s appearance is completed by labels, applied by Nikita, on the side and bottom of the container. “The distinctive green tinted lid from RPC Bebo Nederland adds on-shelf appeal to the Delhaize low fat salad range,” comments Wim Van Schaeybroeck of Nikita. “We are especially pleased that RPC was able to offer this innovative effect without affecting the project’s timeframe.
