Smurfit Kappa Lands Starpack 2015 Super Seven
Smurfit Kappa, the world-leading producer of paper-based packaging solutions, has scored this year’s highest, individual company success in the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) UK Starpack awards that will take place in September.
With seven shortlisted products across five award categories, Smurfit Kappa has shown that its approach to packaging innovation is more than skin deep. This year’s judges particularly liked Smurfit Kappa’s eco-friendly approach to solving complex problems with straightforward solutions. Judges singled out Smurfit Kappa’s entry in the Materials Innovation category as “A sustainable solution via material substitution” and its entry in the Retail-ready category as “Simple, intuitive - no need for instructions. It removes all shrink-wrapping for good environmental impact.”
The five categories where Smurfit Kappa stood out from all others and is guaranteed a Bronze, Silver or Gold award are:
- Effective use of Packaging for Marketing - for Galaxy Little Treats by Smurfit Kappa Zedek
- Retail-Ready Packaging - for Galaxy Little Treats by Smurfit Kappa Zedek and Unilever Pot Noodle Tray and Hood by Smurfit Kappa Yate
