Tetra Pak Carton Ambient recently released a special version of the Tetra Pak A3/Flex filling machine with a DIMC applicator incorporated. With the DIMC applicator installed, the filling machine can produce either TBA 1000 B or TBA 1000 S packages with a FlexiCap opening applied. FlexiCap™ The opening, released in December 2002 on TBA/8 packaging lines, is both low-cost and can also be reclosed to protect the packed product for longer in the fridge after first opening. It is applied to the packaging material, before the filling process, using the Tetra Pak unique Direct Injection Moulding Concept (DIMC). The filling machine The filling machine, previewed at Anuga FoodTec 2003 in Cologne, Germany, maintains the added benefit of being able to offer customers the flexibility to switch between certain package volumes and sizes, allowing them to adapt to needs that change. The DIMC applicator on the Tetra Pak A3/Flex FlexiCap can be bypassed and most Tetra Pak A3/Flex Volume Conversion Kits are applicable except for packages that require PullTab since there is no PullTab applicator with this version of the filling machine.
