Trompe L’Oeil Effect for Terrine Tub Redesign
The relaunch is the result of the need to adapt to market changes by reducing the standard product size from 250 to 200g.
The relaunch of Paul Prédault’s ‘Le Mousson’ terrine has benefited from an ingenious tub redesign by RPC Tedeco-Gizeh Troyes that utilises the existing lid and tooling for two different pack sizes.
The relaunch is the result of the need to adapt to market changes by reducing the standard product size from 250 to 200g. Nevertheless, Paul Prédault required that the new container maintained the existing height and rim.
RPC Tedeco-Gizeh Troyes used its expertise to deliver an adaptable mould capable of producing both standard 200g and promotional 240g versions of the product with a single tool. The resulting ‘trompe l’oeil’ effect – in which the containers appear identical despite the size difference – has been achieved through subtle alterations to the bottom of the tubs.
The project demonstrates RPC Tedeco-Gizeh’s excellent working relationship with its customer and its ability to meet requirements within short lead times.
