Vondelmolen Chooses Payne for Easy Opening
Vondelmolen is committed to adding value to its products and has introduced tear tape in order to enhance the convenience of its single-serve cake slices.
11/07/08 Gingerbread manufacturer Vondelmolen has become the latest confectionery producer to recognise the easy opening advantages provided by Payne tear tape.
Based in Lebbeke in Belgium, Vondelmolen was founded by the Borms family in 1867 and is still family-owned today. The company manufactures a wide range of gingerbread loaves, cakes and biscuits made with traditional healthy recipes but enriched with minerals including calcium or probiotic fibres such as Beneo.
Vondelmolen is committed to adding value to its products and has introduced tear tape in order to enhance the convenience of its single-serve cake slices. Tear tape offers clean, rapid access for busy consumers and effective tamper evidence, to ensure that pack opening is simple and fuss-free – a crucial consideration for snacks intended for ‘on the go’ consumption.
A red tape has been selected to help consumers to find the point of opening, which is supplied on long reels to minimise downtime due to changeovers. The project was co-ordinated by Daka, Payne’s distributor in Belgium.
“Payne and Daka have both been extremely helpful during the course of the application,” comments Jan Borms of Vomdelmolen. “The result is perfectly integrated with our existing packaging to provide consumers with a fast, effective means of opening our single slices.”
