With New Engineered Substrate, AET Charges into Decorative Surface Market
Applied Extrusion Technologies (AET) is introducing SynDECOR, an application-engineered substrate for decorative surfaces. In laminations to lauan plywood, MDF board, particleboard, gypsum, and similar materials, SynDECOR delivers outstanding performance, superior to that of plasticized vinyl and coated paper in many critical area of performance.
SynDECOR offers reliable dimensional stability. It eliminates issues of creep, or shrinking that compromise the long-term appearance of plasticized vinyl surfaces. SynDECOR is designed with high opacity to hide substrate discolorations. Since SynDECOR does not require plasticizers; it also delivers long-term color stability. SynDECOR delivers exceptional adhesion to panels with cost-effective, industry, accepted adhesives. It is specifically engineered to deliver "fiber tear" bonds and, in some cases, eliminates the need for more expensive adhesive options. SynDECOR offers extraordinary durability with a tough surface that resists scratching, scuffing and staining. Because SynDECOR has consistent gauge and gloss with low extensibility; printers are able to more closely replicate intricate woodgrain and detailed wall covering patterns. In addition to superior print registration, SynDECOR is processor-friendly, offering better roll conformity and tighter color consistency than the conventional substrates.
