Continuous fully automatic milking – this is no longer a pipe dream. It has been brought about by a groundbreaking innovation – the World’s first automatic milking stall module for several types of milk parlours. GEA Farm Technologies is pleased to present its product innovation for the first time in the context of EuroTier 2012.
The milking stall module DairyProQ of GEA Farm Technologies carries out all the steps in the milking process fully automatic: From the start, from the teat preparation (predip) and the preliminary milk sample, the milking up to the postdip process and the removal of the teat cups. This includes the intermediate disinfection of the teat cups and their external components between cow milkings. The unique feature of the milking stall module is the complete automation of the process with one comprehensive system. The milking process is executed fully-automatic at each milking stall. This individual stall solution permits free access to the animal and the udder at any time in a continuous and efficient milking process guaranteeing highest reliability of the system. The milking stall module is alternatively available as semi-automatic solution.
Whether the parlour configuration is a carousel, herringbone or side-by-side, the milking stall module can be adapted to several types of milking parlours. The high throughput performance is especially suitable for large dairy farms.
GEA DairyProView: The first software for the complete overview of milk production
Optimization of the overall production process in dairy farming is more important than ever today. GEA Farm Technologies has developed a new software which visualizes all areas and work processes of the entire dairy farming operation, including free stall, calving and milking areas, as well as the individual movements between them. The software enables improved herd management by providing a cockpit view with up-to-date information for efficient decision making.
Through integration in the proven GEA herd management system DMS 21 and GEA CowView the complete animal logistics of the dairy farming operation is represented in real time. The software provides clear information such as, the animal population in individual work areas. The complete overview enables a better and more systematic planning of all work processes.
GEA CowView: Innovative Health and Fertility Management
This product innovation enables animal localization and the analysis of individual animal behavior to be tracked and processed in real time. Transponders send the location and the activity of every individual animal to the farmer’s PC, tablet or smart phone. This means that for the first time a full and continuous analysis of the position and the behavior of each individual cow is obtained. For example, the time spent in the stalls, in the walkways, time spent on feeding and the distances walked are analysed to derive the state of health and the heat cycle of each individual animal in real time. GEA CowView offers many advantages: Labour saving through simultaneous animal localization, an optimized reproduction cycle through reliable heat detection, flexible workflow management, an early warning system for health risks and flexible data access.
“Farm of the Future”: Vision of sustainable total solutions of GEA Farm Technologies
The Total Solution concept of GEA Farm Technologies offers integrated product solutions and services for the area of milking and refrigeration, hygiene and services as well as animal and stall technology. In the future the focus will not only be on the production of milk and milk products of the highest quality, but on a responsible approach to the use of natural resources. Only energy-efficient and resource-preserving technologies can enable sustainable milk production, which is also profitable, animal-friendly and future-oriented. The journey to the “Farm of the Future” has already begun. GEA Farm Technologies is working towards a global strategy with the aim of driving forward the necessary changes in animal management and food production.
