The vast amount of attention on plastics has increased the interest and demand for bio-based films. Bastin-Pack were exhibiting bio-based pouches at Empack 2019 in Den Bosch. Bio-based certifications are also a strong purchasing point for consumers, although a lot of confusion remains around the difference between OK Compost and home compostable packaging options, Aurélie Van de Vyver, Sales Coordinator Flexible Packaging, tells PackagingInsights.
