Dr. Bernd Sperlich, Research & Development Manager at Wipak, explains at FachPack 2018 some crucial R&D challenges in reducing plastic in packaging. The inclusion of paper is a key solution, exemplified by Wipaks Skinbottom carton. The transformation of certain plastic materials to become recyclable is also a large R&D task, but Wipak exhibits how they achieved this with its Thermoforming films without any polyomite.
