At this year’s Packaging Innovations trade show (February 21-22) in Birmingham, UK, packagers from around the globe showcased products primarily targeting the F&B sector. Compostability, lightweighting and bio-based fiber barriers were central trends.
Industry manufacturers and brands convened at the CPhI trade fair held in Barcelona, Spain (October 24 to 26). On the show floor, Packaging Insights spoke to suppliers who shared details on their ranges of natural plant-based botanical solutions, functional ingredients, unique delivery formats and excipients.
London Packaging Week opened its doors to “a record number of visitors” last week at London’s ExCeL exhibition center, with the event composed of four exhibitions: Packaging Première for luxury products, PCD for perfume, make-up and toiletries, PLD for premium and luxury drinks and food & consumer pack for food and everyday packaging.    
Europe’s biggest packaging trade fair relaunched for the first time in six years, with industry leaders from around the world showcasing their latest product innovations and research. The future of bioplastics, compostability, automation and women’s representation were highlighted at the event.
