33mm: Amcor White Cap launches new diameter for Plasti-Twist closure

Range extension to highly successful 38mm Plasti-Twist and Plasti-Twist Triple Seal caps Amcor White Cap has launched a new diameter for its plastic closures in 33mm size. The 33mm Plasti-Twist cap is a two-piece compression moulded plastic closure, primarily for use in hot fill applications. Produced in a polypropylene material the closure features a compression moulded liner, which is available with or without barrier properties.

The 33mm Plasti-Twist cap is a two-piece compression moulded plastic closure, primarily for use in hot fill applications. Produced in a polypropylene material the closure features a compression moulded liner, which is available with or without barrier properties. The 33mm Plasti-Twist cap is a range extension to Amcor White Cap's existing 38mm Plasti-Twist closure with liner and its 38mm Plasti-Twist Triple Seal closure with 2 and 3 threads, all of which are proving to be highly successful. The new cap has 2 threads for better application and a flat liner profile for sealing of PET bottles. It also incorporates a patented drop-down tamper evident band. After opening the band stays on the container, and, as the band is not attached to the closure, it is easier to reseal the container. Because it has a smaller diameter the 33mm cap guarantees less oxygen permeation - an important customer benefit. It also gives a different look to the bottle shape by virtue of its smaller size. The 33mm Plasti-Twist cap has low removal torques for easy opening and excellent resealability. Application is by use of rotary cappers. Top printing is possible on the closure, the matt (as opposed to gloss) surface finish guaranteeing enhanced printing possibilities. Other important features include pull-up controls that correspond to controls on PET bottles for immediate non-destructive visual checks of good closure application, ensuring increased production line efficiency. The cap is suitable for many food and still beverage applications, including dairy drinks, juices, iced tea and sports drinks. It is compatible with plastic containers in all materials and can also be used for cold fill requirements.
