A Beer Bottle with Bottle Opener

Now beer lovers can remove metal bottle caps without the need of any outward bottle opening device.

13/06/08 Sisecam, Turkish biggest glassmaker, introduced its latest invention in the glass packaging manufacturing, a beer bottle with the bottle opener inclusion on the bottom, for one of the beer brands of Efes Russia, Efes’ Russian-based brewing facilities, formed in 2006.

First introduced in France in 1935, the invention with the bottle opener engraved on the bottom, was remade and adapted to the modern-looking beer bottles by Sisecam, bottle supplier for Efes Russia, Russian-based subsidiary of the Turkish biggest brewer, to boost sales and capture attention of demanding Russian consumers.

Now beer lovers can remove metal bottle caps without the need of any outward bottle opening device.

The Chairman of Anadolu Holding board Tuncay Ozilhan and The General Manager of Efes Russia Tugrul Agirbas note that Russian consumers are most sensitive to packaging and design innovations. While in Europe beer bottle design is restaged no more often than every 7 years, in Russia the period of rebranding narrows to the average of 2.5 years, otherwise Russian consumers start looking for other newer and more eye-catching brands.
