afimilk, a developer, manufacturer and marketer computerized systems for the modern dairy farm and herd management, said that the world’s largest dairy farm project managed by the company in Vietnam is operating in five of 12 farms with 23,000 cattle.
Now in its third year, afimilk experts offered their expertise in farm and dairy management, feed production, water treatment, waste water management and veterinary services for the construction of the dairy firm.
TH Milk, one of Asia's biggest dairy farm located in Nghe An province in north-central Vietnam, is financing the project.
The project was initiated with an aim to supply 50% of the Vietnamese milk market.
TH Milk chairman and North Asia Bank general director Thai Huong said that the critical factor in the success of this project has been the Israeli experts guiding the Vietnamese. With a current capacity of 200 tons per day, the dairy plans to supply more than 300,000 tons yearly by 2015.
The complete control of the dairy will be ultimately transferred to local teams, which are already managing milking parlors and management software at the conclusion of phase one.
Kibbutz Afikim and Israel's private equity firm Fortissimo Capital are the two shareholders in afimilk, which makes electronic milk meters, pedometers for monitoring cows' health and online milk analyzers.
