Anuga FoodTec: Schubert to unveil spare part 3D printer as digitalization takes center stage
18 Feb 2022 --- Schubert is showcasing a new 3D printer for high-quality format and spare part printing at this April’s Anuga FoodTec in Cologne, Germany. The Partbox uses Schubert Additive Solutions’ virtual web platform, enabling manufacturers to 3D print plastic parts in their production facilities.
The German-based machinery specialist expects digitalization to be the standout theme at this year’s event. Digital technologies are opening up new opportunities for companies in the food and beverage industry to network their processes.
“The Partbox enables users to produce the parts they need directly on-site,” explains Marcus Schindler, division manager for supply chain management at Schubert and managing director at Schubert Additive Solutions.
The company will also present a lightline cartonpacker for packing grated cheese pouches into cartons on-site.
Expect digitalization
At Stand C071, Hall 7.1, Schubert will be showcasing its solutions to support the digital transformation. These solutions include the lightline cartonpacker, whereby the cartons are erected and filled with the pouches.
The pouches can be packed into two different carton types through the two carton blank magazines. Meanwhile, a GS.Gate industrial gateway enables secure access to the machine and production data.
“What this [access] means is that we can carry out remote maintenance and use the data obtained to increase the machine’s performance,” explains Georg Koutsogiannis, senior sales account manager at Schubert.
“The more digital packaging machines become, the more data is generated during their operation,” adds Koutsogiannis. “With targeted digital services, this wealth of data is turned into hard cash for manufacturers and operators.”
At Anuga FoodTech, Schubert will also showcase its new digital Care services for optimizing packaging processes while saving resources and costs.
Environmental sustainability support
Schubert will also provide information on the topic of environmental sustainability at Anuga FoodTech. With support from Schubert-Consulting experts, visitors can discover how the transition to environmentally sustainable packaging can combine environmental and cost-effectiveness. The team will also be on-site to answer questions about in-house packaging development.
At FachPack 2021, Schubert demonstrated its two-in-one flowpacker and cartoner for plastic and paper runnability as the fiber-based trend gathers pace.
