Bapco Closures and CanGro Foods Launch the 82mm Twister

03/12/2007 CanGro Foods Inc. has selected the Bapco 82mm Twister closure for the launch of their Del Monte “ready to eat” fruit in a jar.
This new packaging development was driven by their market’s desire for a consumer friendly wide mouth light-weight container.
The unique 3-part Bapco Closure system, has a fresh foil seal, securely welded to the bottle, providing a 100% barrier. In addition the foil acts as a vacuum panel, enabling a new light-weight 540ml polypropylene jar to be developed by Graham Packaging.

Welding the neck threads directly onto the bottle post-fill, allows for wider mouth openings. Translating into filling line benefits for the processor, and improved product evacuation for the consumer.
A consumer friendly, easy open ring pull mechanism means no more compromise between peel and seal. The consumer offering is further enhanced with clear jars and labels enhancing the appetite appeal of the product.
