Huhtamaki was able to step up to the challenge and provide Blue Bell Creameries with the perfect package to introduce their new Crème Supreme product line. Customer-focused innovation drove the development of Huhtamaki's new 48-ounce Regal® container with Medley® lid. Blue Bell was responding to increased customer demand for size and shape innovation in frozen desert packaging. They took this opportunity to introduce a truly new product to the market. Huhtamaki was able to help Blue Bell with these key advantages: &'149 A new product line that extends their current offerings &'149 A new package differentiates it from other Blue Bell products; both in shape and graphics &'149 A new fill volume allows processors to work with their retailers to optimize price points and product economics &'149 A reduced package height that increases shelf facings &'149 A premium package that is preferred by many consumers First to introduce this premium shaped paperboard package to the market, Huhtamaki's Regal® has been available for several years in various sizes. The 48-ounce size is a new addition to the existing line of 12.5, 16 and 64-ounce sizes. Additionally, Huhtamaki offers the Revelle®, a flat-bottom container similar to the Regal, in 56 and 64 ounce sizes. Both types of packages are delivered nested and ready to fill at the customer's plant. They boast a non-round shape with two large panels for maximum display space, stunning graphics, and a wider opening at the top of the container to maximize product scoop-ability. The Medley® lid is a composite lid with a plastic ring and paperboard insert. Consumer reactions to these containers have been positive.
