09/11/06 Superfos drives the market standard introducing a new patented child-proof and senior-friendly opening - and closure mechanism on UN-approved solutions.
Following years of intensive product development, Superfos has introduced a UN-approved solution as the first of its kind in Europe to be certified according to the latest NF EN ISO 8317 standard.
This means, Superfos now offers European customers with products with chemical or otherwise hazardous contents a unique first-mover opportunity with an all-round child-safe and user-friendly solution.
Progressive product development
The solution is a direct result of Superfos’ progressive product development to meet the latest NF EN ISO 8317 standard.
The NF EN ISO 8317 was extended in 2003; it stipulates three demands each representing opposite interests. The opening has to be child-proof i.e. impossible to open for young children under 51 months, easy to open for seniors of the age 50-70 and the container has to be UN-approved for chemical and other hazardous contents.
Breaking the code
Sales Director Roland Gabriel from Superfos says: “To accommodate the two opposite demands i.e. hard to open vs. easy to open the solution is a combination of a flex-system that is only easy to open if you are acquainted with the technique. To make it easy for adults to decode and open the mechanism, the pack is equipped with an explicative logo showing the method.”
The new solution is implemented on Superfos’ UN-approved SuperFlex solution.
