Clondalkin creates “eye-catching” easy peel lids for alcoholic ice cocktails

12 Oct 2018 --- Specialist heat seal pre-cut lids manufacturer Chadwicks – a UK member of the Clondalkin Group – has produced a set of “eye-catching” lids for a new range of gin and vodka infused ice cocktails from frozen cocktail brand, LIC. Chadwicks has produced various designs for the 46mm aluminum foil lids for the alcoholic frozen cocktail range from LIC which includes Grey Goose Vodka and Bombay Sapphire Gin.

Printed one and two color UV flexo, the lids provide an easy peel and secure seal for the new gin and vodka varieties that complement the current rum range of Mojito and Pino Colada.

Paul Whelan Technical Manager for Lids at Chadwicks explains: “The cocktails are frozen in paper PE tubs which, with their very narrow rolled rim, are difficult to seal and then open. Chadwicks’ aluminum PE co-ex material is ideally suited to this type of application as the sealing layer is 30gsm of modified PE which not only provides a 100 percent seal it also remains peelable.”
