Elopak's partner in Mexico Grupo Lala launched a new adventure in milk with two dairy industry firsts. The installation of the first Pure-Pak® P-S120UC filling machine in Latin America, and with the introduction of Mexico's first Extended Shelf Life (ESL) milk products in 1 litre Classic Pure-Pak® cartons with screw cap. In March 2004, Lala launched four new milks; Suprema 21, Suprema 21 Light, Siluette Plus and Deslactosada. This new range brings innovation to Mexico as the first ESL milks and as special products targeted at a specific market segment which demands healthier products and more convenience. The installation of the Pure-Pak® P-S120UC filler in Lala's Guadalajara plant was coordinated jointly by Envases Elopak Mexico and Elopak Inc. USA. Elopak's ESL technology with the new ultra clean filler has enabled Lala to produce milk with a 21 days shelf life, but still keeping milk's fresh taste and vitamins. This is such an added benefit in Mexico as its vast size and hot climate makes the distribution of fresh milks and products difficult. Lala wanted to highlight the ESL benefit of these new products by including it in the names of the two standard white milks - Suprema 21 and Suprema 21 Light.
