Bar code printer manufacturer Datamax, of Orlando, Florida, has made an addition to its E-Class product range. The E-4304 thermal printer is designed to meet the increasing need for high-resolution printers capable of producing 2D bar codes. These enable detailed product and routing information to be incorporated on labels without taking up large surface areas. The compact DMX-E-4304 has a resolution of 300 dots per inch (dpi), making it suitable for printing complex two-dimensional bar code symbologies including PDF417, Datamatrix, MaxiCode and QRCode. The printer can also undertake a variety of other on-demand printing applications that require higher definition than the industry standard of 203 dpi - for example, graphic images, foreign language characters, compliance labels, and general purpose product identification labels. The E-4304 can be configured for direct thermal or thermal transfer, and prints labels up to 104mm wide at speeds up to 101mm/second.
