Extreme temperature closures
Alcoa introduces 2 new closures designed to improve the seal integrity of carbonated beverage packaging under extreme temperature “cycling” conditions: the 28-mm Double-Lok XT™ (left) and 28-mm Extra-Lok XT™ (below). Wide-ranging temperature conditions can cause shrinkage of the heat-sensitive PET material, which can cause gaps to develop between the finish and the closure.
The XT liner design incorporated an inner and outer seal, providing maximum protection against gaps.
