First Mini Diamond Production Line in the Baltics

Elopak celebrated the launch of &Joy from Rokiskio Suris in Lithuania recently, which marks the opening of one of the first Mini Diamond Pure-Pak® carton hot-fill lines in Europe. On June 3rd, 2004 Elopak's CEO and President Bjørn Flatgård attended the line opening ceremony in Ukmerge for the production of &Joy, a new healthy soft drink, made from a mixture of milk whey and juice, which is packaged in 330 ml and 500 ml Mini Diamond Pure-Pak® cartons with Elo-Cap™ UL. Joining the celebrations were Director Market Area Nordic Arto Jokinen, Market Unit Manager Baltic Countries Markku Lille and Country Manager Saulius Zvirblis. &Joy is launched by Ukmergés Pieniné, a division of AB Rokiskio Suris, one of Elopak's key customers in the Baltics. The company is famous for its range of healthy fresh curd, and its already popular &Joy products that include yoghurts, sweet cottage cheese bars with fillings, creams and desserts. From its fresh curd production, Rokiskio Suris has surplus whey which is very healthy and nutritional. By using the whey to make this new drink, the company is responding to the increasing number of Lithuanians who are looking for healthier and more natural food.
