Friesland Foods WAMCO Nigeria PLC has a dominant share of the Nigerian market and netted over USD210 million(about N26.880 billion) annually from sales of its dairy products in the Nigeria and the West African subregion.
Investigation by Vanguard revealed that with over 700 workforce, the company has continued to play a leading role in the production, processing, packaging, marketing and distribution and sales of various dairy products in Nigeria for over thirty years and to ensure consistency of high quality dairy products from the company, Royal Friesland Foods in the Netherlands provides strong support in the form of technology transfer and technical assistance.
The company has also repackaged its brand of evaporated milk, Peak. The company's product range includes well-known brands such as Peak Evaporated and Powdered Milk, Peak Sweetened Condensed Milk, Peak 123 and 456 Growing Up Milk, and Three Crowns Evaporated, Powdered, and Choco Milk.
After, unveiling Peak's new look to the public in Lagos, the company's Commercial Director, Mr George Sch-Eringa said " Peak evaporated milk brand has been extra-fortified with calcium, vitamin D3, vitamin B complex, low glucose index that strengthen muscles and bones, provide energy and helps to enhance body performance and also enhances mind performance because it contains iodine, tyrosine, vitamin B12, and vitamin A that supports mental alertness and gives clear bright sight for stronger bodies and sharper minds. This is in line with the WHO's approach to reduce nutritional deficits in diets of the Nigeria family."
The product now comes in an attractive golden label, with new Peak flag logo, new palm trees and mountains, body and mind icons, new sky color, gold and cream wave extra fortification logo and 28 vitamins and mineral logo.
