New look and packaging for Nestle Nutrition
Nestlé Nutrition is making changes throughout 2005, many Nestlé Nutrition products will receive a new look and updated packaging.
Nestlé Nutrition is making changes throughout 2005, many Nestlé Nutrition products will receive a new look and updated packaging. The most widely used standard nutritional formulas will now become part of the NUTREN® family of products.
These changes will not affect formulations, pricing, ordering codes, or HCPCS codes. Changes that will be occurring:
1. Six of Nestlé's standard formulas will become part of the NUTREN family. With this change, NUTREN will now encompass a complete range of whole-protein formulations. • Four products will simply have the NUTREN brand added to the label. These products are GLYTROL®, PROBALANCE®, REPLETE®, and REPLETE® with Fiber. • Two products will undergo a complete name change in late 2005. To ease the transition to the new names, the former product name will be mentioned on the new labels and cartons. These two products will also receive new NDC codes. OLD NAME NEW NAME Flavor / Pack Size New NDC Code NUTRIVENT® NUTREN® PULMONARY Vanilla / 250 mL 1000 mL ULTRAPAK® 0065-9141-70 0065-9141-72 NUTRIRENAL™ NUTREN ® RENAL Vanilla / 250 mL 0065-9142-70
2. All NUTREN®, PEPTAMEN®, CRUCIAL®, F.A.A.™, NUTRIHEP® and RENALCAL® labels will be updated (both cans and UltraPaks®).The new look is designed to enhance product identification and selection.
3. There will be minor changes to the nutritional labeling. Product formulations are not changing; however, minor changes are being made to the way nutrient amounts are reported. Most importantly, the amount of Vitamin A listed on the label will now consistently include any beta carotene in the product. This change specifically affects PROBALANCE cans, CRUCIAL® cans and UltraPaks, NUTREN RENAL and some PEPTAMEN JUNIOR® products.Other Nestlé product labels already report Vitamin A in this way.
4. 1000 mL UltraPak bags will be packaged in the same sized carton as is currently used for 1500 mL UltraPaks. The new 1000 mL carton size is a better fit for the product and is more stable when stacked. Cases per pallet remain the same.
5. Cans will now be shipped in easy-to-read white corrugate trays. The height of the tray will increase slightly (3/4") over the current brown corrugate to improve visibility. This minor change will not affect the weight or overall dimension of the cases or pallets.
6. As the new packaging phases in, 2L codes will no longer appear on shipping cartons or packing slips.
The new cartons will reflect the 16-digit product code and the 14-digit GTIN (Global Trade Identification Number). Changes that are not going to occur are:
1. Product ordering codes, pricing, formulations and HCPCS codes are not changing.
2. NDC codes are not changing, with the two exceptions shown above.
3. There will be no changes to your current ordering process, including the product code you choose to order by.
