The move aims to strengthen Goglio’s presence in the Brazilian flexible packaging market, bringing together complementary expertise and production assets to meet the needs of the regional market.
“This operation enhances our ability to deliver increasingly comprehensive and innovative solutions while effectively responding to the needs of a constantly evolving market,” states Goglio.
“The acquisition represents an important milestone in the group’s growth journey, strengthening its international position and reaffirming its commitment to creating value through industrial excellence, innovation, and a closer collaboration with customers and business partners.”
Strengthening regional position
Cristal Embalagens supplies packaging for several sectors, including food, baby food, pet food, and feminine care products. With the acquisition, Goglio says it will expand its offering of flexible packaging solutions for different sectors.
“We continue with what has always been at the heart of our performance: relationships of trust, proximity, and excellence in everything we do. This union strengthens our ability to innovate, invest, and grow alongside customers, employees, and partners,” states Cristal Embalagens.
Meanwhile, Goglio highlights that it will continue to invest in technology, quality, and environmental sustainability.
Earlier this year, a regional study found that, while several countries in Latin America have introduced plastic circular economy frameworks, plastic production, consumption, and waste are increasing in the region, while waste management and sustainable trade remain “insufficient.”
Previously, Packaging Insights spoke to Amcor Latin America, AJE Group Colombia, and Greenback Recycling Technologies about the packaging supply chain in Latin America. Brazil stood out in the region and showed regional advancements in some states, where local policies restrict single-use plastics and encourage circular economy practices.
