Henkel supplies Ravenwood with linerless adhesive tech to reduce weight
Henkel Adhesive technologies has equipped Ravenwood Packaging with its hotmelt pressure-sensitive adhesives for Ravenwood’s linerless labelling system.
The adhesives can be used in a wide range of packaging like logistical packaging, weight scaling, and fresh food packaging.
Henkel explains that conventional labels have four layers, of which the liner accounts for 40% of the total weight. Removing liners in labels reduces weight and reduces waste and can limit carbon footprint.
Philippe Daval, global market strategy manager for Specialty Tapes and Labels at Henkel, says: “By combining our adhesive expertise with Ravenwood’s linerless technology, we are delivering a solution that reduces waste, lowers CO₂ emissions, and supports recyclability at scale.”
Henkels adhesives can be used in Ravenwood’s Com500 Coaters and Nobac Applicators. They are also part of Ravenwood’s Circle of Linerless, a closed-loop sustainable labelling solutions.
Both labelling companies will display various solutions at Label Expo 2025, September 16-19.
Recently, Henkel’s personal care brand, Fa, updated its packaging materials, design, and ingredient formulations to include recycled materials, bright colors, and natural formulas.
It also introduced phthalate-free PVC-based sealing compounds for metal packaging applications in industrial pails and drums.
