The excellent working partnership between RPC Bebo Plastik and Hochland AG has been highlighted by the use of a thermoformed tub for a number of products, including an innovative cheese spread. Based in Heimenkirch, Allgäu, Hochland AG is a successful manufacturer of cheese items under a number of well-known brands Hochland, Almette, Patros and Valbrie. With sites in six European countries, the Hochland Group required a packaging supplier with proven technical expertise and local service for two new products being launched in Poland and Germany. RPC Bebo Plastik produced a thermoformed PP tub ideal for cheese spreads, with an attractive curved shape and high quality post-mould labels from 3 P Spezialdruck. For enhanced appeal, the distinctive large lid is pre-printed with the all-over Bebo Print technique to enable decoration to the rim. In Poland, the tub is used for the Krem range of cheese spreads, comprising plain, gherkin, dill/chives and paprika varieties. The success of the product has led Hochland to launch the range in Romania. In Germany, the tub maximises on-shelf exposure for the spread “ the first hard cheese for spreading” that uses a new production process to combine a spreadable consistency with the characteristic flavour of three types of hard cheese Gouda, Emmenthal and Maasdam. The two projects were co-ordinated in tandem to ensure that a uniform standard was achieved. The packs were produced at RPC Bebo Plastik’s Bremervörde facility and filled at Hochland plants in Germany and Poland, with RPC Bebo Polska providing support at the latter.
