Eastman Chemical (Kingsport, TN) has developed Heatwave™ Polymer CF746 for hot-fill PET beverage applications. The new resin provides an additional feature of ultra-violet protection. Because the UV absorber is chemically bound, it does not migrate to the surface.

Eastman Chemical (Kingsport, TN) has developed Heatwave™ Polymer CF746 for hot-fill PET beverage applications. The new resin provides an additional feature of ultra-violet protection. Because the UV absorber is chemically bound, it does not migrate to the surface. Heatwave enables 2-stage heat-set blow molding at different temperature conditions. It does not affect cycle times when used in existing injection molding tooling. It meets applicable FDA regulations for hot-fill containers.
