Tension Envelope has partnered with System Packaging to jointly market a new and improved cold seal process that is said to be quicker and less expensive. Called Cold Fusion, this flexible packaging process is designed to meet the needs of users currently hand-packing items into corrugated boxes, padded envelopes, or other shipping containers, and is particularly useful for mail order pharmaceutical products.

Called Cold Fusion, this flexible packaging process is designed to meet the needs of users currently hand-packing items into corrugated boxes, padded envelopes, or other shipping containers, and is particularly useful for mail order pharmaceutical products. System Packaging machines have been configured to feed rolls of cohesive packaging paper, a poly-coated laminate that is USPS-approved, waterproof, tear- and puncture-resistant. The p-s latex coating on the inner face seals only to itself, leaving no residue on the packaged items. Machines average speeds of 35-45 packages/min. Numerous machine options are available, depending on the automation needs of the application, and prices range from $60,000 to $150,000.
