Drinktec 2025: Krones to showcase connected and sustainable beverage tech
At Drinktec in Munich, Germany, Krones will showcase various technologies, from automations to data and AI systems, that aim to reduce operating costs, enhance resource efficiency, and create reliable and environmentally sustainable processes.
Krones indicates that a special highlight of the fair, which runs from September 15–19, will be the fully automated and digitally connected line of the future. Adapted from a vision in 2022, the line of the future showcased at Drinktec is specifically designed for PET bottles. Krones is already working on a line that incorporates glass and cans.
The company highlights its hopes for the trade show: “Sharing knowledge, giving fresh impetus, shaping the future together — that is the aspiration of the Krones Forum at Drinktec.”
“Inspiring presentations and discussions on all aspects of lines of the future, digital transformation, and sustainability, as well as trends and visions, make space for an exchange of views and mapping out new perspectives and possible shopfloor solutions.”
AI and material innovations
Moreover, the new LinaFlex eSync canning line will also be on display. According to the company, the canning line uses 40% less space, reduces maintenance costs, and ensures better handling due to its single-lane conveyor.
The canning portfolio will also include inspection and filling technology developments, as well as seamers from the Modulseam series with high hygiene standards and fast handling change-overs. According to Krones, a new high-speed variant can seam up to 135,000 cans per hour.
In glass container developments, Krones will showcase a new bottle washer with gentle washing capabilities, a smaller footprint, and enhanced energy and media efficiency. It will also present design upgrades for beer and spirits filling valves.
Krones seeks to highlight its connected packaging systems, smart intralogistics, and AI-based process control systems.
In addition, the company highlights the PET Point hall at Drinktec, which aims to showcase circular developments. Krones Recycling will showcase its latest technologies alongside Netstal, and Mold and Hotrunner Technology, two Krones subsidiaries.
Krones adds: “The company will present the full range of process technologies: for water, carbonated soft drinks, beer, wine, alternative foods, and more. Each part dovetails neatly with the rest, and all pursue the same objective: ensuring the long-term viability of production operation.”
