Kylie Minogue plays with lychee and passionfruit in newly unveiled vegan fragrance Darling Eau de Parfum
02 Aug 2022 --- Kylie Minogue and Scent Beauty have introduced a modern, longer-lasting vegan version of her signature fragrance, Darling.
Designed by Firmenich perfumer Ilias Eremendis, the recreated formula builds on the original scent launched in 2006 in a “modern way.”
With top notes of passionfruit, freesia and lychee, heart of lily and boronia flower and base aromas of sandalwood, amber wood and vanilla, Darling Eau de Parfum can be described as a floral fragrance.
Classic reimagined
The new bottle and pack design of Darling has been modernized in a shimmery pink, sleek bottle with a lace-textured cap.
The US relaunch on ScentBeauty.com and in key retailers comes after successfully relaunching in the UK, Spain, France and Australia.
Talking about the relaunch of her signature fragrance, Minogue remarks, “Darling holds a very special place in my heart. It is such a joy to share this beautiful scent with my fans once more.”
“The original launch of Darling was a momentous occasion in the fragrance world. Kylie connected deeply with her fans and customers and it was a global success,” Scent Beauty Inc's, CEO, Stephen Mormoris, mirrors the excitement for the launch.
“This time around is no different, Kylie is a timeless beauty, sharing a timeless scent. We are thrilled to be re-releasing this classic with a modern twist into the market.”
Minogue’s vegan redevelopment of the Darling fragrance highlights a shift in the industry toward environmentally conscious innovations.
Last year, popstar Billie Eilish debuted her vegan fragrance, Eilish, featuring notes of warm musks, tonka bean and sleek woods.
Apart from the use of vegan products, another environmentally conscious trend emerging from the industry comes in the form of refillable bottles.
Bee perfume bottles produced by Guerlain can be replenished for life. Following suit, Armani Beauty’s latest addition to its olfactory family, My Way, is manufactured with recycled and recyclable materials and can also be refilled.
The circular economy is also taking precedence in the larger personal care space. It is evident in the launch of Loop and Ulta Beauty’s collaborative website that allows consumers to refill and reuse.
