Maynards Bassetts is launching a new range of candy bags in a move designed to encourage younger consumers into the category. The brand says this is its first New Product Development launch since its re-launch in 2016.
Maynards Bassetts is launching a new range of candy bags in a move designed to encourage younger consumers into the category. The brand says this is its first New Product Development launch since its re-launch in 2016. Available in 70g plain and 50p price-marked packs, the new range consists of five variants – Beaming Beasts Jellies, Cheery Slices Gummies, Silly Snakes Jellies, Chuckle Drops Gummies, and Straw’Merries Jellies. Each pack features interactive smile graphics which the brand hopes will appeal to younger consumers.
Claire Molyneux, marketing manager for Candy at Mondelez International, said: “The small bags category is growing and soft jelly leads candy with a 51.3% share.” “Our new range aims to recruit younger consumers to the category with a variety of shapes and flavors unique to the current Maynards Bassetts range. What’s more, the packs can be folded and the smiles graphic placed in front of the mouth to create a silly face.” A full range of POS tools are also available.
