Multisorb Technologies offers a cost-effective alternative to rigid desiccant canisters for moisture protection in a variety of food, pharmaceutical and other applications with its StripPax desiccant packets and Active-Pak Automation dispensing systems. The combination of StripPax packets and APA dispensing systems can result in significant savings and provides an ideal solution for applications where problems may occur with canister availability. APA dispensing systems are currently dispensing desiccant packets into bottles at 325 BPM. Multisorb's StripPax desiccant packets make it easy and convenient to switch from canisters. StripPax packets already have a Drug Master File (including canister equivalency data) recognized by the FDA. Such a switch can be implemented immediately under the FDA Guidance Document (Packaging/Desiccant CBE Reference; www.fda.gov/cder/guidance/guidance.htm) using a CBE-30 notification. Many pharmaceutical companies have already switched from canisters to StripPax® and simply stated it in their Annual Report to the FDA. Multisorb's StripPax® desiccant packets are made with extremely durable, tear-resistant medical grade uncoated TYVEK. Uncoated TYVEK assures that no additional volatiles may enter a constrained environment as is possible with coated TYVEK. The packets take up little space in packaging yet have high adsorbing capacity. They are available in a variety of sorbent blends and sizes to meet specific packaging needs. StripPax® packets and APA dispensing systems provide an example of the versatility offered by Multisorb.
