Multivac extends traysealer range with digitally-enhanced large tray options
03 Jan 2022 --- Multivac has added three traysealer models with a new wide-format to its TX8 series, offering customers more packaging flexibility and improved process reliability.
The TX 815, TX 825 and TX 835 traysealers are particularly suited to packing products in large trays in a two-track packaging process. The machines are characterized by their “very high” output.
As with all TX generation models, it is possible to use Pack Pilot and other Multivac Smart Services on these traysealers.
Widened possibilities
The new machines enable trays with a maximum width of 270 mm to be run in a two-track format or with a width of up to 560 mm in a one-track format.
These options mean the machines are specially designed for packing a wide range of food products or ready meals in family packs and catering trays.
Due to the machines’ wide-format, it is also possible to achieve a high output of large trays with “wide side leading.”
Skin pack stability
The new high-output traysealers are particularly well suited to skin packs. Since the cycle output with skin applications is generally lower than other pack types, this two-track machine version with its tandem gripper enables very high outputs.
The tandem gripper guides the trays gently and rapidly through the packaging process, ensuring the product is transported securely.
The traysealers can produce up to 100 skin packs per minute depending on the tray size and product protrusion, with “excellent” pack quality.
Future-proofed innovation
The TX generation range is equipped for the future. The Multi Sensor Control and Flow Manager machine control contributes to the machines’ output, reliability and optimum pack quality with an even product flow.
The die concept known as X-tools further guarantees consistently high pack quality. It distributes the sealing forces very evenly on every tray, ensuring uniform and reliable packaging production.
Moreover, the RFID-coded dies support operating security for companies running numerous tray formats with frequent die changes.
Process optimization
All TX8 series models are prepared in advance for Multivac’s digital solutions. By linking the packaging machine digitally, it is possible to access information about the current production status from any location. It is also possible to monitor and optimize the packaging process and detect bottlenecks and faults.
The models can be connected online with Multivac Pack Pilot, which automatically sets the machine parameters, simplifying setting up new products, trays and films. This connectivity makes quick production start-up possible, even with new pack or product applications.
The other Multivac Smart Services include Smart Production Dashboard, Smart OEE Analyzer, Smart Log Analyzer, Smart Data Backup and Smart Machine Report. Customers can decide immediately or later on the various optional service packages available. The existing machine dies can be used with all the service packages.
Multivac in the news
In other news, FiliGrade Sustainable Watermarks recently launched its CurvCode digital watermark system on Multivac fish packaging in the Netherlands, claiming the technology will be the “missing link” for sorting post-consumer and industrial plastics into the waste stream.
Multivac also promoted its FreshSafe packaging system for extending the shelf life of delicate natural products, including fruit and vegetables. The system employs a method of producing equilibrium atmosphere packs, optimizing the oxygen content.
