New Bottle Filler for Frequently Changing Batches of Solid Dose Products
Like its larger brother, the Integrated Bottle Center 120 is based on an unrivalled machine concept developed for the bottle filling of solid dose products entirely in compliance with pharmaceutical principles.
6/21/2011 --- An extremely successful machine concept is set to enter the next round with the Integrated Bottle Center 120. The machine is a further model in Uhlmann´s range of bottle fillers for solid dose products and extends its spectrum in the medium output range. At the same time, it combines productivity and flexibility in a manner unique to this sector of pharmaceutical packaging. Namely, it allows manufacturers to respond efficiently to the increasing need to package diverse small to medium-sized batches in quick succession on one machine. This is no problem for the Integrated Bottle Center 120. Handling 150 bottles or 24,000 tablets or capsules per minute, the machine is adjusted to a different bottle diameter in just six minutes. On account of the small number of format parts, a full format changeover is quickly completed and all the machine stations are automatically adjusted to a different bottle height at the touch of a button. The ability to process round, rectangular and oval bottles 45 to 200 millimeters in height and 25 to 125 millimeters in diameter promises a wide range of applications.
Like its larger brother, the Integrated Bottle Center 120 is based on an unrivalled machine concept developed for the bottle filling of solid dose products entirely in compliance with pharmaceutical principles. All the required stations are integrated into the machine, optimally coordinated, and controlled via a central touchscreen operating system. The format-free, intermittent motion bottle transport throughout the Integrated Bottle Center 120 eliminates micro-stops and product congestion. No ramp-up phase is necessary. The master shift register guarantees maximum process control because it recognizes the position of every bottle in the machine. Furthermore, the in-process control function and Uhlmann´s 100 percent good product philosophy ensure process reliability at its best. The easy-to-clean, table-top design and time-tested components familiar from Uhlmann blister machines round off the technical profile.
The Integrated Bottle Center 120 is easily tailored to production requirements. The 100 percent accurate tablet counter is available with up to four counting modules and the capping unit for the bottles with up to three capping heads - depending whether greater importance is attached to counting capacity, output or both. Optional modules such as a desiccant or wad feeder can be fitted. By integrating upstream and downstream components such as the new Labeler L 250, Uhlmann demonstrates its competence in optimized, integrated line concepts for maximum efficiency. The large format area and fast, tool-free format changeovers of the L 250 make it the perfect match for the Integrated Bottle Center 120. It applies wrap-around labels evenly at a rate of 250 bottles per minute.
The Cartoner C 2155 and the Stretch-banding machine S 3025 ideally complement the line. The C 2155, with its rotary carton pick-up as well as servo-regulated leaflet pre-insertion and product loading, has an output of up to 150 cartons per minute. It guarantees top results anywhere in the world, even in the case of cartons of critical quality. The footprint of the S 3025 is just one square meter. It bands up to 300 cartons into 30 bundles per minute.
To allow the seamless documentation of pharmaceutical supply chains, the Integrated Bottle Center 120 can easily be fitted with Track & Trace by Uhlmann. Tailored to requirements, the system applies 2D codes to the base of the bottles, bottle labels, cartons and bundles. These contain information relevant to the production process. Cameras verify this identification and the data is stored in Uhlmann´s tracking database for subsequent access at all times. The data from each code is linked to that of the next largest unit of packaging.
