CES 2026: Nuon Medical unveils tech-integrated cosmetic packaging ecosystem
Key takeaways
- Nuon Medical has unveiled a tech-integrated packaging ecosystem at CES 2026, designed to enhance skin care efficacy.
- The solution features five key technologies, embedding sensing, treatment, and connectivity into packaging.
- The system aims to transform skin care applicators into intelligent delivery solutions.

Nuon Medical, a cosmetic solution provider, has announced a comprehensive tech-integrated packaging ecosystem at the Consumer Electronics Show 2026 (CES) in Las Vegas, US (January 6–9).
Nuon’s ecosystem allows brands to embed sensing, treatment, and connectivity directly into personal care packaging. The solution aims to transform the skin care applicator from a tool into an intelligent delivery engine, enabling brands to improve formulation efficacy while providing data-driven diagnostics.
Alain Dijkstra, founder and CEO of Nuon Medical, says: “The future of efficacy lies in the synergy between the formulation and the delivery method. At CES 2026, we are showing R&D teams how our ‘device-in-packaging’ architecture acts as a treatment engine, unlocking the full biological potential of their products.”
Enhancing product performance
Beauty tech is being prominently featured at CES 2026, with cosmetics companies leveraging digital capabilities to drive innovation in the industry. At the event, Nuon is highlighting five key technology sectors where its hardware plays a role in improving the performance of products.
The company’s showcase features Near Field Communication (NFC) and connected packaging, presenting digital systems that secure the product lifecycle via NFC authentication and usage tracking.
Nuon presents a phototherapy area to highlight LED applicator heads with red and blue light therapy for simultaneous formula application.
In the skin diagnostic area, bio-sensing tips analyze skin hydration and texture to support personalized skin care. The UV diagnostic area presents UV sensor-embedded tips that visualize invisible environmental risks, helping to improve sun protection factor compliance.
Finally, the at-home spa area introduces systems that combine thermal control and micro-vibration, enhancing the absorption of skin care formulations.
Last year, Nuon Medical introduced advanced cosmetic packaging solutions that combined innovative technologies aimed at transforming traditional skin care packaging into efficacy-driven devices.
Recently, Toppan Digital developed NFC tags embedded with LEDs that light up when a smartphone is held up to them. In a beauty application, tags can be integrated into containers such as the mirror sections of compacts or vanity boxes, with the LEDs lighting up when the consumer holds their smartphone up to the tag.
