PicoBrew's Automatic Beer Brewing System Unveiled
24 Jun 2014 --- PicoBrew Inc., developers of the Zymatic; the world's first automatic beer brewing system, featured their appliance at the 36th Annual National Homebrewers Conference. This year's conference was held in Grand Rapids, Mich. at DeVos Place.
Mike "Tasty" McDole, an award-winning homebrewer and speaker at the conference, stopped by the PicoBrew booth to see the Zymatic at its first public showing.
"It's a well-engineered and thought-out brewing system," said McDole. "I can see it being of great value to professional brewers, who often want to do test batches on hops by taking advantage of a repeatable and effortless wort production method."
Fred Key of S.C., a first-time homebrewer and backer of PicoBrew's Kickstarter campaign, attended the conference after participating in multiple local brew club meetings.
"It was my first National Homebrew Conference, and my first chance to actually see a Zymatic in full operation. The PicoBrew booth was the first thing I looked for in the event program," said Key. "After watching the recipe software demonstration, tasting the homebrew created by the machine, and seeing firsthand the overall ease of use and operation, I have decided that my first brew day will have to be a coat and tie event honoring the introduction and inauguration of my new Zymatic."
Several members of the PicoBrew team traveled to the conference to present the Zymatic, including Brewmaster Annie Johnson.
"It was great seeing old friends and making new ones. On top of that, the beer was fantastic," said Johnson. "It's both encouraging and inspiring to see the technological shift in brewing."
