Rotzinger launches filling and capping machine for over-the-counter products
Rotzinger PharmaPack has released VarioFill, a filling and capping platform for over-the-counter products like non-aseptic pharmaceuticals and liquid products for the cosmetics, personal care, and nutraceutical industries.
Michael Gensheimer, product manager at Rotzinger PharmaPack, says: “Where manufacturers and contract fillers previously needed new machines for different products and closures, VarioFill now enables them to process everything on a single platform.”
Applications of the machine range from non-aseptic pharmaceutical liquids (such as eye drops and cough syrup), to cosmetics (such as creams and face serums), and to solid dosage forms (such as tablets and capsules).
Gensheimer says VarioFill can handle different packaging materials, shapes, and closure types in variable output amounts.
Saving on space
The VarioFill is compact due to automation and exchangeable modules with space savings exceeding 50%, according to Rotzinger.
The machine base, which is identical for all variants, allows new stations and modules to be installed.
“All you need to do is reconfigure the platform with the appropriate modules, and the line is ready for new requirements at low investment costs,” says Gensheimer.
After the containers are cleaned, they are weighed while empty. Filling is performed via rotary piston pumps or tablet capsules. Then, the containers are fitted with snap-on, screw, pump, or crimp closures.
